Tyler Stevens
Founder & CEO, Exergy · Denver, CO
I build things at the intersection of Bitcoin, energy, and open-source projects. Most of my time goes into Exergy, the company I founded to commercialize building-integrated mining systems — designing, installing, and monitoring heating and solar monetization systems powered by hashrate. I also wrote Bitcoin Mining Heat Reuse, the first definitive guide to the industry.
Beyond Exergy, I serve as President of the Board of the 256 Foundation — a 501(c)(3) dedicated to keeping Bitcoin mining open-source and dismantling the proprietary mining empire. I instigated the Hashrate Heatpunks, a community of builders united by the idea that mining heat is a product, not a problem — now part of the 256 Foundation. And in Denver, I co-founded The Space, a member-run Bitcoin community hub where the Exergy office lives and Heatpunk Summit happens every year.
What I'm working on
Home and business heating systems powered by hashrate. We size, design, and facilitate installation of hashrate heating solutions that offset utility costs and monetize energy for homes and businesses.
A nonprofit challenging proprietary control over the bitcoin mining industry. Committed to keeping bitcoin mining hardware and software open-source and accessible.
A growing community of enthusiasts and professionals who believe heat reuse is one of Bitcoin mining's most important frontiers. Now under the 256 Foundation.
The definitive guide to hashrate heating. Now available on Amazon. I wrote this to map the emerging industry of using Bitcoin miners as intelligent heat sources.
